Plasma Televisions
1. Plasma Televisions are more susceptible to burn-in of static images.
2. Plasma Televisions generate more heat than LCDs, due to the need to light of phosphors to create the images.
3. Does not perform as well at higher altitudes.
4. Shorter display life span (about 30,000 hours or 8 hrs of viewing a day for 9 years) than LCD. However, screen life span is improving to as high as 60,000 hours due to technology improvements.
LCD
1. LCD have a motion blur problem
2. LCD have a better color accuracy than Plasma Televisions
3. The sharpness of the image on the LCD is better than Plasma Televisions
4. LCD age is longer than Plasma Televisions
5. Plasma Televisions is more cheaper than LCD
6. For the power consumption, LCD is more economical than Plasma Televisions
7. LCD working temperature is higher than Plasma Televisions
8. LCD works great on bright colors/images, and more sharper than Plasma Televisions, while Plasma Televisions is more soft and and works great for natural color, such as human skin color and 3 dimensional images.
