So i just purchased my Vizio VOJ320F1A  last week for $547, and am overall very pleased. A very good purchase for those looking for above average picture quality at a superb price. I agree with Savage on a few items:

My top loves/hates :

Love: ability to rename source inputs “HMDI 1 to PS3″

Love: location of remote sensor. Lower right hand corner allows for stacking of the kids DVD cases and toys on the front shelf of the TV stand without interferring with remote control (I didn’t realize how much this mattered to me until the kid got tall enough!)

Love: focus on picture quality over sound quality. The perfect business model to get high quality Full HDTV into the hands of the masses. If you’re hung up over the lack of sound quality on a 1080p HDTV…that seems to me like not buying a high quality car because of the lack of cup holders

Love: simplicity of remote

Hate: simplicity of remote (easy for the wife, annoying for me when I want to tweek the settings mid-viewing)

Hate: can’t change the name of the channel I’m watching (why my local CBS transmits NET1 I’ll never figure out)

Hate: when using the included base, the set is leaninging slightly down. No tilt/rotate

One final thing: something that is often overlooked by manufacurers and buyers is the orientation of the input connections. Much praise to Vizio for choosing to make rear inputs on this model that point down, eliminating dust and foreign matter entry. As a person with cats that love to walk behind the set, this down-facing cable set-up has eliminated cable pulls!

Have you had many problems with your HDTVs? Have you had zero problems and are completely happy with your HDTVs?

We know what our trusty friends at the AVS Forum have recommended in terms of plasma TVs and LCD screens. PC World magazine did its own poll of readers—16,000 TV owners—to see what they thought when it came to their annual “Reliability and Service” survey.

The big winner? That would be Sony, which scored better than average in the most categories, including the “overall satisfaction with reliability” category—in that one, Sony was only joined by Panasonic and Samsung.

Other brands that scored well in the reliability realm were LG, Panasonic, Samsung, Sharp and Vizio. On the flip side, Westinghouse, Hitachi and Mitsubishi earned “worse” than average overall satisfaction, and Toshiba, Hitachi, JVC and Mitsubishi chalked up multiple “worse” nods.

Interestingly, one of the commenters on Engadget HD offered up some results from a similar Consumer Reports survey, on LCDs only, posting the percentage of brands reported needing repairs. The results aren’t identical, but certain brands are near the top on both, and certain ones are near the bottom on both:

Sanyo – 1%
Sony – 2%
Sylvania – 2%
Panasonic – 2%
JVC – 2%
Sharp – 2%
Toshiba – 3%
Vizio – 3%
Samsung – 3%
Philips Magnavox – 3%
Olevia – 4%
LG – 4%
Hitachi – 4%
Westinghouse – 5%
Polaroid – 6%
Mitsubishi – 7%

So what do you think? Check out the PC World chart below, and let us know how reliable your TV brand is—or what kinds of problems you’ve had.

Personally, this is my list :

1. SONY – i do own Bravia KLV-V32A10 for 2 years now. Menu is easy to use. Picture Quality is good. My families always trust SONY as no 1 TV Brand. SONYis a brand for a life time.
2. PANASONIC — my “future plasma FullHD”. will keep update about this one!
3. SHARP– cannot say much because i dont really have it BUT one thing that make it one of the top list because their 3 years warranty! No others brand can’t beat that!

what about you guys ? :)
