LG World’s Thinnest LCD TV Panels
- With 2 comments

This LG LCD TV screen has hit upon some kind of wonder diet: despite packing in 1080 resolution, it’s just 5.9mm thick, making it the world’s thinnest LCD HDTV!
We’ve seen skinny LCD TVs before from the likes of Samsung and Sony, but until now, they’ve all been 7mm or more around the waistline. Far from chunky, yes, but LG’s 42 and 47 inch LCD screens are the new size zeros in HDTV town. LG’s new LCD displays are even thinner than Panasonic’s Neo Eco plasma screen that wowed audiences and shattered jaws at CES this year!
Viewing angles are 178/178; the LCD panel is 10-bit; and brightness is 450 cd/m2. Power consumption is 110W for the 42-inch model and 130W for the 47-inch. Availability is undecided at the moment.
