How to choose an HDMI cable
- With 1 comment

Today’s high definition TV sets have numerous input connectors ranging from traditional composite video to SVHS to component video to HDMI. Of those, the best connection for high definition signals is HDMI.
There are two opinions you’ll hear when it comes to buying an HDMI cable. One is that you should spend the money to get a high quality cable (an opinion often expressed by commissioned sales people and advertisements for high priced cables). The other opinion is that all cables are alike and you should get the cheapest possible.
As it turns out, both opinions are wrong – sometimes.
Let’s say you need a 6 foot cable to connect your cable box or video game to your TV. Should you buy:
1. HDMIKing- Imperial Series 6ft v1.3c 120hz+ HDMI Cable- Gold Plated, Double Insulated for about $8
2. Cables To Go Velocity Series 40315 HDMI Cable (Blue, 2 meters) for about $25
3. Monster HDMI 1000HD Ultra-High Speed HDMI Cable for over $100
And the answer is… #1 – or any another inexpensive HDMI cable you can find. Indeed, when it comes to a six food cable length, they will all work equally well.
